Spring Arts Fiestas right around the corner!
Save the dates!!
A little birdie has informed me that the Spring Arts Fiestas are just around the corner. Please put the following dates on your calendar and look forward to a fantastic evening of entertainment from your very own star!
2nd Grades: March 14 6:30 p.m.
3rd Grades: March 14, 7:15 p.m.
4th Grades: March 21, 6:30 p.m.
5th Grades: March 21, 7:15 p.m.
Please have your student at the school 15 minutes prior to their performance time. Each grade level lasts about 30 minutes. These performances often feel like "one more thing" in the family schedule, but this performance is more than just a scheduling frustration. This is an opportunity for your child to share with you some of what they do each day here at school in Visual Art, Spanish and Music class. Preparing for these programs takes the classroom learning to the next level and puts a bit of polish on the skill or activity. So, please come, leave the frustrations of the day and sit back and enjoy watching and looking at your child "at work".

The Opera is coming. . .
Once again the Longfellow PTO is funding Opera for the Young to come to Longfellow Elementary. This year our opera is Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan. The students are enjoying learning the story and singing the songs for this opera. Our performance will be on October 27, at 9:00 am in our gymnasium, complete with 4 principal singers, a pianist, student performers, costumes and an enthusiastic audience. Once again, thank you Longfellow PTO, this is our 6th opera here at Longfellow!
